Northern Saw-whet Owl, Aegolius acadicus
Even if this species breeds in mixed or deciduous forests, it is also found in parks, in gardens, in backyards of urban and semi-urban areas. This owl is nocturnal and hard to find because of its small size. It is the smallest of owls in the Northeast. Putting up a Birdhouse makes it easier to observe this species during the breeding season that extends from April to late May.
