Tree Swallow, Tachycineta bicolor
This type of swallow is particularly fond of our birdhouses. It is found in re-growth fields, in open woodlands, in fields near water, in cities and suburbs. It feeds primarily on insects caught in flight. Nesting extends from May to June.
This birdhouse is made of white pine, and the interior is specially adapted for easy exit for fledglings leaving the nest.
