White-breasted Nuthatch, Sitta carolinensis
This species inhabits mature deciduous and mixed forests. It forages along the tree trunks, head down like the Red-breasted Nuthatch, a common feature of all nuthatches. Nesting period extends from late April through May. It feeds primarily on insects and seeds (sunflower seeds, nuts, fat, and suet at feeders).

Easily maintained, this birdhouse can accommodate the Red-breasted Nuthatch. To simulate a natural nest, it is recommended to put one or two inches of wood chips in the bottom of the bird house.
